the other day, my grandma called us
and asked us if we wanted the oink tortoise buns that we loved as kids
i told her that i’ll come and get it during my break
we went before work started because we didn’t really know the way to the temple that they were at
funny thing is, we have been to the temple since we were kids
the floors had like little mosaic lotus flowers
we loved to jump from one to another one as kids and still do *embarrassed*
so me being the smart blogger i am, decided to take piccies
they mixed the ingredients, i bet you have never seen this before
then they roll it out and let it rest (let the yeast do the job of eating up the sugars and expand the dough)
(proud of self for remembering what she learned once in baking and pastry)
then they shape everything
the round body, legs and tail
this is the station in charge of making the feet and tails
then they cut 3 holes to make the eyes and mouth
stuff 2 of em with beans to make the eyes
and then they steam in then we eat it
i didn’t manage to make it for the steaming time
but here are a few of the cuties before steaming
and here is a picture of a jumping cutie
and it all happened here
xoxo
